God Bless America

Well, it’s coming close to the American Thanksgiving holiday, which (although I reside under the reign of the country from which my ancestors sailed away), I still celebrate.

So here is my tribute to the flag of that country, and my thanks for those who sacrificed their lives for what it represents.

“O say can you see, by the dawn’s early light…

…what so proudly we hailed...

...at the twilight’s last gleaming…

…whose broad stripes and bright stars, through the perilous fight…

…O’er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming…

…And the rockets red glare, the bombs bursting in air, gave proof through the night that our flag was still there…

..O say does that star spangled banner yet wave…

…O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave?”

Happy Thanksgiving!

Karen

I love the pictures! Is it a little wierd to celebrate Thanksgiving in a different country? Did you get a day off of work?

Thanksgiving is a day that we've managed to take all the way to Australia with us.

Getting together with those fellow Americans, as well as a Thanksgiving service and dinner with our church.

I love the flag pictures.
